Clear oiled solid Oak plank |
Why Oil? |
One of our long-standing customer favourites that we supply and install on a regular basis, Oak plank with our preferred two-part penetrating oil used to enhance and protect the timber surface.
With a clear oil, we let the timber do all the talking - distinguished grain pattern, vivid colour tones, knots, medullary rays that shimmer as the light catches them from different angles... the real deal that no other man-made material can imitate not only the aesthetic but the functional values of this incredible, natural material. A rich, warm colour pallet that sits harmoniously in all settings while making a bold statement that the biggest surface area in the room is in fact a 100% natural product, capable of lasting well over a century. This flooring has a staggering 8mm of wear layer before the tongue, with careful re-sanding, and general maintenance, that's a potential lifespan of over 80 years!! |
As we have spent the past several years installing bare and site-finishing, we have perfected our coating processes to find the best system that not only brings the Oak to life, but offers real value, authenticity and a natural, tactile element to our customers hardwood floors - a finish that many pre-finished floors struggle to achieve.
We put this exact finish on our customers floors who are having old floors re-sanded and also use it on new installations when we are required to coat and protect the flooring after being installed bare. With ease of maintenance and re-coating for the end user, oiled floors make for not only a sound aesthetic choice, but also for a savvy investment. The big advantage to the home owner here being that customers can go longer in-between requirements for re-sanding, if they are inclined to follow and implement a basic care and maintenance system. |
